Is Apple Intelligence available in Ireland with iOS 18.2 update?

What's the story about Apple Intelligence in Ireland. I've downloaded all the new softwares, but still shows that is available in my region. Anyone knows how to activate it?

It should now be available with iOS 18.2. Apple Intelligence in the UK, including Ireland was released today.

If you go to Settings, the Apple Intelligence & Siri option should now exist and you can turn on Apple Intelligence there

I’ve spent some time with the Customer Service team over the Apple app and yes, there is Apple Intelligence in Republic of Ireland but-the first day of the launch, they’ve had an issue which is being resolved by the tech team. That’s what the lady said today and that she can’t confirm when will the complete update be available (it’s technical problem) but-it’s coming as soon as possible. 100% verified from Apple.

It is 100% verified by Apple that Apple Intelligence is NOT available in the EU at this time on iOS and iPadOS though it is available on Macs.

For European Union residents

Apple Intelligence is available with macOS Sequoia 15.1 or later on supported Mac models.

For iOS 18.1 and later, and iPadOS 18.1 and later, Apple Intelligence will not currently work if you are in the EU and if your Apple Account Country/Region is also in the EU. If travelling outside of the EU, Apple Intelligence will work on your iPhone or iPad if your language and Siri language are set to a supported language.

In April, many of the core features of Apple Intelligence will start to roll out to iPhone and iPad users in the EU.

How are you being lied to? The Republic of Ireland is part of the EU. It is 100% verified by Apple that Apple Intelligence is NOT available in the EU at this time on iOS and iPadOS though it is available on Macs.

Then, whoever you spoke to misunderstood something (possibly which Ireland you are in). It is 100% verified by Apple that Apple Intelligence is NOT available in the EU at this time on iOS and iPadOS though it is available on Macs. You can read the official documentation below.

Last night after coming from work, I’ve downloaded iOS 11.2 to my iPhone 16 Pro Max and it has showed that Apple Intelligence isn’t supported in my country/region but I did get all of the apps and mailbox (new one with focuses) so I’ve called Apple Support and as there was an American agent, he has confirmed in our conversation that it should work in the Republic of Ireland but I initially activated it in the UK a month ago but when did Apple say NOT TO activate or download the iOS 18.1 if you’re just abroad in another country? The point is, I’m now stuck until phone call with EU Apple Support with the semi-updated version of iOS 18.2 and if they won’t be able to resolve the issue, I’ll use my AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss.

So, Ireland (ROI) is amongst countries with Apple Intelligence rolled out.

I can verify now as living in Republic of Ireland it’s NOT available. I’ve just signed out on iPhone and signed in with uk Apple ID changed all settings to uk and you guessed it it was there. I installed it and turned it on. Signed out back in with Irish Apple ID and it was gone. So I can confirm Republic of Ireland does not have apple intelligence

The situation is as follows:

-I’ve been told from Customer Support that Apple Intelligence is indeed rolled out in the Republic of Ireland, and I’ve spent over an hour going through Settings, changing regions, doing resets, than, the representative escalated it to the Senior Customer Support representative and I’ve got a new call, spent quite a lot (2h maybe) on the phone with the lady and she has said what I’ve already wrote here, that it’s been rolled out in ROI, but, that she’ll communicate with me over email and now, I’m not getting any calls, emails etc. although it’s obviously their mistake in naming countries, I’m baffled that Apple did such a messy job of Apple Intelligence in Ireland. I don’t need to read between the lines, I’ve openly asked about EU and I’ve been told that it doesn’t matter for Ireland, like, it’s English speaking country.

This is not the brilliance of Apple, I’ll admit it first, although I do love Apple, but, if you mess up, you don’t tell lies to customers which are asking about the service or product which is far from cheap, and loyal to Apple since iPhone 4S (2012.).

Okay, hopefully, iPhone 16 Pro Max will be worth the 5 months of Apple Intelligence as I’ve cashed out full price for both iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro Max until the next iPhone which I’m skipping until they realise they live of people which are buying all Apple ecosystems, not just iPhones over carrier.

Cheerio.

Apple Intelligence is currently not available for iOS and iPadOS devices in the European Union (EU). However, it is available on Macs running macOS Sequoia 15.1 or later.

For iPhone and iPad users in the EU, Apple has announced that core Apple Intelligence features will start rolling out in April 2025. (Source)

Some users have tried workarounds like changing their Apple ID region or using a VPN, but these methods are not reliable or recommended. The best option is to wait for the official rollout in 2025 to get a stable and full experience.
