Serious dictation issues iOS 18 iphone 13

I've searched for weeks for a solution to dictation problems I have on my iPhone after updating to iOS 18.1.1 on my iPhone 13. I have rebooted the phone as suggested, but this solves the issue only briefly. I use dictation all the time, but get multiple errors, misspellings, random words, etc. It is especially bad if I switch to a foreign language as I often do with Duolingo. It is all but unusable. Are there any new solutions to this issue? I cannot afford a new iPhone right now.

elicia, I don't know if your problems are related to mine. I have iOS 18.2, but I have an iPhone 13 so I don't have any of the new apple intelligence. I can only point to the above posts, which steps seem to have solved my problems (although I never had issues with locking caps or dictation turning off. I deleted all my keyboards in settings, including the bilingual keyboard, and re-added just the monolingual keyboards I use, I made sure Siri and dictation were on and not restricted in settings, then I rebooted the iPhone. It's been a week, and my issues have not returned. Good luck!

Troubleshooting Dictation on an iPhone:

ScreenTime Settings:

Make sure "Siri & Dictation" is not restricted in Screen Time. Turn it on, if it is off.

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Screen Time
  3. Tap: Content & Privacy Restrictions
  4. Tap: Intelligence & Siri
  5. Tap: Siri so that is it green. If already green, then turn it off, and then Turin it back on.

thanks, TheLittles. I think that may have helped, although it's maybe still too early to tell. I still get some seemingly random errors, but it's better. I also removed the bilingual keyboard and re-added just the monolingual keyboard I use, and maybe that's had a positive effect. But rebooting also takes care of the problem for a few days, and I'll have to wait a bit longer I think to know if your solution fixed the issue. thank you again.
