HomePod mini stuck in "configuring" status

I've read about this issue all over this website and 3rd party sites. I was always able to reset my HomePod mini, which seemed to be need with 1 of 2 of them whenever I lost internet. It happened again a week ago, so I followed the steps I've completed in past, which I pulled from this Apple community and the internet ... now I can't get it out of the configuring status. No matter what I do, even with a reset using my Mac mini, I'm unable to get it out of this status. Because it's in this status, I can use it, can't pair it with my other HomePod mini for stereo for my Apple TV.

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!

HomePod mini, 18

I am having to say issue . I’m running 18.1. I’ve reset it 1 million times and even connected it to my Mac mini to do a hard reset. I bought five of these for the whole house and have the same issue on the two that I have opened. I am running a mesh deco Wi-Fi system throughout the whole house running on 2.4 to 5G both HomePods just seem to stall in configuring status and never update. It seems to be a major issue. Lots of people seem to be having the same trouble. Can someone from Apple please help

Ok - I fixed this by the longwinded route of creating a new ‘home’ in the Home app. You have to reset the HomePod mini and update it to 18.1 by connecting it to your Mac. Then create a new Home in the Home app (delete the old one) and add each HomePod to the new home. Total drag, for I have 10 hue light strips to now add which is always a total nightmare because the Hue lights don’t exactly link easily to the Apple HomeKit either……which mean more resetting. Definitely an issue that needs addressing Apple….

It worked. Very annoying indeed. Now I have to reconnect all my devices to Apple Home again. Like you, I also have a large number of Apple ecosystem devices.

Thank you tedrino1 for your help!

Apple, workarounds don’t solve issues. Fix your problems, one that clearly has been an issue for some time. I don’t see myself buying more products if this is the service you get for the premium price you pay.
