New Terms and Conditions Will Not Open on iPhone

A message on my phone says "To use iCloud on this iPhone you must accept the new Terms and Conditions." But when I try to open the Terms to click agree, it will not open. The progress circle turns and turns... and eventually goes away and the screen goes back to the beginning, as if I had never clicked continue.


I've tried restarting my phone. Tried logging out of icloud and back in. I can't get it to work. My iOS is up to date. I can't find any reason that it won't open.


In old threads, someone suggested making sure you don't have multiple icloud accounts. They removed one, and it worked for them. But they said to look in settings > mail. I do have several email accounts, including several for work, but not iCloud accounts. I have only one iCloud account. I do have a Mac that is also logged in to the same iCloud account, but that shouldn't impact my phone accepting new terms.


Is this a bug in their new Terms???

Report this to Apple:

Im seeing a boatload about this on these forums. So, indeed it is a bug going about.


Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of your occurrence, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: on when this issue began, and how you’ve troubleshot this, thus far. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

These may not be the current Terms & Conditions. So, have a chat with Apple Support, seeing if they can provide you with the current version of the Terms & Conditions to accept. Thanks. Perhaps you didn't see my earlier reply. I spent several hours with them on chat and phone. These are the current terms and conditions. It's a bug in the current terms. It's doing this on lots of people's phones, apparently. There is no other place to accept the terms. No other app on the phone (not books or iTunes). Can't do it on my Mac. Has to be in that one place on the phone... and it won't open.

Yes. I read it, but calling them back about changing a few thing a to what they should be is the next route to take.


It’s reported plenty of time on these forums within the last 3 or four days. So, wait it out.

I spoke with Apple support by chat and phone. They said this is happening a lot, but it may be a long time before Apple fixes the bug. So for now, people like me cannot back anything up to iCloud from our phones. 😳😡


They suggested I reset the network settings and passcode, wait 48 hours, and try again. (They took a couple of hours just to tell me those two simple steps, and insisted on screen-sharing with my phone AND Mac.)


I did those two things, waited 48 hours, and I still have the same problem. Can't get the terms to load.
