AirPods Pro 2 hearing test "error has occurred"

I have run the hearing test three times now, and it ends with a screen "An error has occurred that could affect your test results. Please restart the test." I have known hearing loss in right ear. Left ear testing progresses fine, then right ear progresses and then dwells a long time with the progress ring nearly closed ... then I get the error. While the progress ring is nearly closed, I do still hear occasional tones so the test is still running. I rebooted the iPhone and firmware on Pro 2s updated last night ... anyone experiencing this and find a solution?

Which screen are you referring to? I am getting the same error. Tried several times. Different rooms, all quiet with windows closed.

Press on the settings gear icon. Make sure that your AirPods are in your ears or the case is open and then you should see a Settings listing for AirPods click that and that will take you to the first level menu. On that first level menu there is a hearing test clickable link. This is the link that never worked for me. Instead click on Hearing Assistance that will take you to another level. At that new menu level you will find a take hearing test link. That is the one that worked for me after 5 times at the first level menu failed.
