I have iPhone 15 Pro, I am not in UK, i have set my language and region to US English (for Siri too), and I have updated to ios 18.1, however I cannot see apple intelligence option in my settings.

Apple Intelligence is not available in Europe or if you have an iPhone meant for sale in China (Model number ending in CH/A.) regardless of where you are.

This worked for me.
I set Language under General Settings to English (US).
Under Apple Intelligence, I also set Language English (US).
it then allowed me to join the waitlist for Apple Intelligence for my IP 15 Pro Max.
( previously no such option )
But why? My iPhone 15 ProMax was a gift. What am I supposed to do? I am a US citizen and I have a US Apple App Store account and I am not a resident of mainland China. My phone has model number MU2R3CH/A. This is ridiculous. Is Apple doing this with EU iPhones too?

I can't explain what is wrong for you. You are absolutely certain you have an iPhone 15 Pro and not an iPhone 15?

There is evidently no way to enable Apple Intelligence at this time on Phones manufactured for the Chinese Market, which your phone is.
