TurboTax 2024 and Monterey 12.7.6 OS

I just made this same mistake. I downloaded the turbotax software to my MacBook air w/ monterey then the software wouldn't run. Now I have $70 software I can't use. What did you end up doing?

Can you tell me how to use the online version? I can't figure it out. Thank you

What is you opinion of H&R Block Tax program, I'm in the same boat. I was wondering if it would transfer my 2023 information over into it?

As did I. I bought through Amazon. I contacted customer service and they refunded my money. You might also try to dispute the charge through your credit card company.

If you’re asking if you can run macOS 13 or later, you cannot.

Oh, well. So much for Intuit.

Good advice. I considered this one year but I am concerned about the ability to look up all the past returns, also the regular version of it allows you to do a few alternate versions of returns to do “what if?” Scenarios. I’m a little paranoid too about the security of having that information online forever.

IRS direct File will be back in 2025 as well.

Previously, it was for simpler returns and only in certain states.

I went with H & R Block tax program

You have two choices if you need to use the desktop version of TurboTax:

(1) Get a newer Mac that can run the required MacOS version

(2) Use software other than TurboTax

OWC (and Apple) sell refurbished and used Macs that come with warranties and many are relatively new and run the newer or latest MacOS. But I would get a new Mac because they aren't that much more costly and I am suspicious of used Macs being resold, someone got rid of it for a reason. Also, if you get a used Mac you will be facing this same problem again sooner than with a new Mac.

I was informed by TT that will only support the last 3 OS now and in the future. Which means for now Ventura, Sonoma, Sequoia.

I just did the same. I purchased through Amazon, and though it is "against policy" they made and exception and refunded me.

Same problem. The MacBook Air with the M4 chip comes out this month. But, they say a newer model comes out in June, too late to file on time.
