Can not get satellite view to work in the google maps layers icon iPhone 13. Location services is turned on and everything in system services is also turned on

Reinstalling worked for about a day, but the problem came back. Compass icon to reorient map to North also doesn't work.

Try uninstalling Google Maps and reinstalling. If that doesn't fix the problem, you'll probably need to take up the issue with Google support.

I was experiencing the same issue with the Google Maps Layer button not working. Uninstall/Reinstall worked. - at least for now.
Same here after installing 18.0.1. Reinstalling Google Maps doesn’t work, or works for a few hours to a day, then it fails again. Google points to Apple; not an issue with 18 or lower versions.
Same. Layers icon has no functionality on iPhone after iOS update. Haven’t reinstalled, but rebooted phone and restarted app. No luck.
