Please recommend video editing software for MacBook. Preferably with a trial version so I can test all the features of the app. Thanks

My top 3 would be Adobe premiere pro, Davinci resolve and Final cut pro. All of this software have trial periods, Adobe premiere pro and final cut pro are more user friendly and easy to understand. Davinci resolve is best for color grading. If you want to spend you can buy plug ins to enhance more of your editing.
For Mac, Final Cut Pro is great for pros, iMovie is free and beginner-friendly, Adobe Premiere Pro offers industry-standard tools, and DaVinci Resolve is powerful for color grading with a free version.
Going from nothing to editing videos is complicated. The learning curve for many of these packages is really steep.
I strongly recommend you get started with iMovie. It allows you to produce your first finished Videos far more easily than most other packages. When you get to the point that you find iMovie lacks features that you want, your choice of next package will be FAR easier to make, and many of the basic video editing concepts will transfer easily to a more advanced package.
And of course if your needs are fairly modest, there's always iMovie with came with your Mac.
Regards.
