Icloud asking for password multiple times

iPhone 15 plus IOS 17-18.0.1

Each time I go to update All apps, iCloud asks for password to update each password, and then deletes the update. So if I have 8 updates today, even though I choose UPDATE ALL, I am asked for password 8 times. Tomorrow, the 8 apps need to be updated again, plus ant that now need updating too. This started with the first update to IOS 17
