Build-in bullets in Keynote

Trying to set up bullets to appear on mouse click or space bar. Can't seem to get them to work. Help would be appreciated.

I can't seem to replicate your problem.

Do you have any other builds configured? the fact it's running in reverse makes it sound like there is a built-OUT, rather than a build-IN transition configured.

Also, are you sure you want a 60 second timer on that transition? that's how long it takes to build each bullet. I know astronomy isn't a fast-moving sport, but 8 minutes to build that slide seems long to me.

Without knowing what you've tried, it's hard to be specific, but in general...

  • On your slide with the bullet list, tap the Animate icon above the Inspector.
  • Select the Bullet List on your slide
  • Tap Build In on the Inspector
  • Click the Add an Effect button to add an effect to build your bullet list.

If you want each bullet to require its own click, choose By Bullet from the Delivery pop-up.

Your inspector should look something like:
