Photo App crashing on iOS 18 while editing

Still there in 18.1.

It happens with clean up tool. It happens when adjusting vibrance. It happens when changing key photo and adjusting depth. It’s happening all the time now. It will say saving and be stuck with the little circle and completely freeze the photos app. It also was doing what the other person said “error saving photo “ and then the whole app closes.

This is same with me as well but I want to double check some more issues in 16 pro max to know if anyone else is also facing these or its only myself.

settings>display&brightness > text size

the slider is moving but no change in the text size written above

LED flash alerts only works when you select Flash in silent mode, if you unselect this, it won’t work ever.

Lagging of Touch response while typing, the touch becomes very slow and lags while typing.

I tried resetting my 16 pro max and set it up as a new phone without any backup but these issues and the same.

anybody else is facing the same??

I have the same issue most of the times, exactly like video’s show. And sometimes I get the message ‘error saving this photo. please try again later' (this translate from Dutch, don’t know if this is the exact English message)

*And offcourse I also have no suspisious apps or apps acquired from other then the official Appstore*

It's funny they say the phone is built for Apple Intelligence and problems like these happen when using those very features. I'm on 18.1.1 on 16 Pro and my photos app crashes when using clean up and the phone becomes a heater, I've noticed the same with other Apple Intelligence features.

Yes and I have a different iPhone so it’s definitely a photos app issue - it’s been happening since fall last year - just happened again now

few basic edits to a video shot in my phone using the phones onboard iOS photo editing app and all heck breaks loose when I try hit done.

white screens, red hot phone, other iOS apps / browser all slow down and lag at the same time - super frustrating and a lot of lost editing time

I have the same issue.

This issue always happens when I

1. Take a live photo.
2. Select a new key photo.
3. Try to use auto-Adjust.

Happen to me just now. Editing my photo with clean-up tool, then photo app crashes.

It happens on ios18.1.1 with iPhone 14pro also!!! Crashes when opening some of the photos and when saving edited photos! Please fix it!

Mine crashes every time I use the clean up tool. Has this been addressed yet? Update didn’t help. Restarting didn’t help. I feel like I’ve had nothing but issues since getting the 16 pro max. My XR was better than this. What a waste. Apple just isn’t what it used to be.

Clean 🧼 up has caused several crashes thus far.. usually when doing a little more extensive cleaning 🧹 of the photos.. I have had success doing one cleanup at a time, saving the photo and then doing it again to be successful with my original goals.. however it's continuing to go on so I'm just agreeing with you. I'm not offering any help to the situation.

It is still happening on ios 18.3 on my iPhone 16 pro max.

Apple used to be great on both hardware and software that was their selling point, "Perfect integration between hardware and software". This is not the case anymore rubbish phone and software!!!

When I first got the Iphone16 pro max and discovered the “Clean Up” tool we told everyone that just this one tool was worth the price for the new iPhone. But now we are afraid to say that because it is so frustrating to have the photo app crash in the middle of an edit. Yes, thank you Apple for implementing Clean Up but hurry and fix it so I can tell everyone how great is the photo app.
