Siri randomly stops working on iphone 16 pro max

I have just upgraded to the above and siri keeps randomly failing to work. It still works by pressing the side button, or pressing the steering wheel button in the car but 'hey siri' just stops working for no reason and the only way I can get it back is to reboot.

I have tried turning siri off and on again and doing the siri setup phrases. It works for a few hours and then it stops working again.

Same goes for dictation. I use this function maybe 30 times a day and it randomly stops working. I press the mic and it listens to me but there's just a little blue circle in the text box that spins as if it is thinking. Then when I press the mic again to stop dictation, the circle spins for another second, disappears and no text comes up.

Not sure if it an IOS18 issue or iphone 16 issue but it is driving me mad!!

Anyone else got this issue?

Yes, I have exactly the same issue. Sirri fails to respond, and only temporarily turning the phone off and on fixes it. It also seems to be affecting my WhatsApp notifications on CarPlay, as they are not working either!

Just spent hours with apple technical support on this issue. Since I only have one line, they tell me that they cannot verify this problem. I personally know several other people experiencing the same intermittent problems with Siri.

I find that turning off my iPhone and restarting works for a little while - definitely not a solution. Apparently I have special tracking on my iPhone for Siri but because I only have one line they will not validate it. This is really awful!

Yes, sadly 18.0.1 made no difference for me either. This is so poor. Siri The iphone seems to get worse with each iteration since Steve Jobs passed.

I have a brand new iPhone 16 Pro Max and it’s doing the same exact thing. I have gone in and turned Siri on and off numerous times, it works for a while and then suddenly stops responding so I have to do it again. I use this function all the time so it’s super annoying. Apple needs to do an update resolve this ASAP!

I am having the same issue, as so many on here have are also. The 18.1 update does nothing. I would hope that Apple tech heads are working for a fix, as this is very disruptive to those of us who rely in Siri while driving and other times as well.

Siri/hey siri is not working on any of my devices - iPhone 16, 2 iPad pros, and 2 HomePod minis. I’ve spent a day and a half going through all of the online suggestions. It worked once after I restarted my phone but now it doesn’t work. So frustrated and annoyed.

Having exactly the same issue on iPhone 16 Pro max, on iOS 18.0.1 - only a reboot fixes it & only for a period of time.

Tried that multiple times a day. shutting down works temporarily but since I use Siri all day to make calls and type messages, rebooting or turning g Siri off and on isn’t a good fix for me.

Same issue, and reset seems to work for a while. After the latest failure, I've just reset my network settings and turned dictation off and back on. Working for now, so we'll see if that lasts.
