Hiding completed reminders in calendar

I like the idea of the reminders app and calendar merging reminders and everything for your day showing up in one place. Is there any way to hide completed reminders in the calendar after you’ve marked them as completed? In the reminders app you have the option to hide completed but I can’t find anything similar in the calendar app. Personally, I don’t need to see things I’ve done and I think showing completed items unnecessarily takes up a lot of screen space.
