iPhone 16 Pro Max Screen Unresponsive

Is anyone else noticing their iPhone 16 pro max being unresponsive sometimes when touching the screen, typing, swiping.

Im not even using a screen protector and it’s like it. Makes things seem really laggy sometimes.

Did not expect it on a brand new iPhone.

I have noticed typing on the keyboard sometimes just doesn’t register letters or the space bar. I took it to Apple, ran diagnostic tests and there wasn’t anything wrong. It is extremely laggy and doesn’t pick up key entries. Pls fix!

My I 16 Pro Max also has issues with the battery. I never had the problem with the 15 Pro Max, but I have to charge my phone twice per day with Minimal use.

I exchanged it once because I was having a lot of issues and part of it was the unresponsive screen, but I thought it was because I had a screen protector on, but when they exchange the phone, I haven’t put a screen protector on yet, and I still have the unresponsive screen, poor battery, and other issues as well..

I’ve had a lot of trouble with Apple Support representatives. If they transfer me to a pre-sale or a post sale and I asked to be transferred to a supervisor or customer service because the representative isn’t helping, they refuse to do that unless I tell them many details about why I want a supervisor and if I simplify things, insight complaint, they will refuse to transfer you to customer service by saying they don’t handle a complaint but I guarantee post sales does not either.

Spending $15-$1700 does not build well with me if I can’t get assistance at Apple Support so I try to call the store and no matter what I select it bypasses the store and goes to Apple Support. If I can’t get assistance people‘s attitude or I’m not gonna transfer you to a supervisor or customer servicewhat do I need them for or what do I need their phone for if I can’t get help for a one week old phone.

I have the Apple 16 Pro Max also and I think I figured out what the problem is it may not make up for the lag. I can’t explain that, but I can’t explain why the unresponsiveness happens I believe.

The new camera settings button, which is at the bottom right of the screen below the screen where you naturally would probably hold your right hand as you’re doing thumb typing with both hands. If you have any little bit of contact with that with your flesh, it is confused. The device isn’t sure whether you’re trying to use the camera controls or whether you’re typing so it doesn’t Do anything until it rectifies what you’re trying to do but with multiple key strokes. Try it out see what You think and Weather I’m on track and please reply back if you think that I’ve nailed it because this could be something that is significant and probably can rectified

I thinK I may have discovered the problem with this situation. IF YOU HAVE ANY FLESH TOUCHING THE NEW CAMERA CONTROLS BUTTON THE PHONE GETS “CONFUSED”. It doesn’t know which contact point it should be responding to. Especially with right handed users, it’s so natural to have part of your palm right there on that button. I found that if I put the phone down on a flat surface and I start to type and there’s nothing in contact with the button, you have no problems. I don’t know how you sell for that other than use two fingers to hold the phone, which is not convenient or comfortable, but I think that’s the situation.

I upgraded to 16pro max from 15pro max and noticed immediately how slow the screen was at responding to touch. Feels like you need to be more deliberate in your inputs for it to register.

I have a screen protector but as this is from a quality brand I can’t see that being the issue.

Hopefully a software issue rather than hardware.

I have the same issue

As my iPhone 16 pro max issue occurred twice within 7 days of purchasing it, I went to the store. The phone was diagnosed and found having some hardware issue. The store associate then told me they will replace the hardware and schedule me for it. I inquired why can’t this be replaced with a new phone as it is less than 7 days and I have paid for a premium phone. After consulting with the manager he obliged and gave me a new phone like to like as replacement. I walked out happily.

Those people need to work with Apple to find out why their experience is different from that of millions of others.

I've always stated you need to work with Apple Support, as some here have done, as it's not as simple as something being broken globally in iOS, rather there's some combination that results in issues for some.

Working with support is the only way that will be reproduced at Apple and ultimately resolved.
