iPhone 16 Pro Max Screen Unresponsive

Yes and it’s extremely annoying. It will just randomly miss taps. So if I’m typing, letters just randomly miss. And sometimes when you’re tapping on an app it just doesn’t respond.

My phone was declared faulty by Apple after contacting Apple support and trying various things including a full phone restore. I've now been sent a replacement from my carrier.

Has anyone done the iOS 18.0.1 update to remedy this? I’ve done it but don’t think it’s improved. Starting to worry about my device now. iPhone 16 pro max 😫

I don’t think mine has improved. Still feels slow and unresponsive when typing.

I am also experiencing this issue. Like some times the swipe would need to be done twice. Hope this is not a hardware issue.

Me too i’m having the same problem. If Apple doesn’t fix it soon i’m returning the phone !!! Ughhhh.

It still has the same issue<< unresponsive screen to touch in many many many incidents (Apps, settings and homesceen too) !!!

Same issue, touch screen sensitivity is lagging, I should have never upgraded it from 13 pro max

Also having this issue. Thought it was my privacy screen protector, but it’s not. It’s unresponsive on the edges, making sending messages on various apps frustratingly slow.

I returned the Pro Max I got a 16 Pro. In Photos when Auto-Play Motion if off there is no mute symbol at the right of the progress bar. I haven't yet experienced the same issue with pausing, stopping or muting videos while Auto-Play Motion is on. However, that was sporadic on the Pro Max. If starts happens again I'll update but as of now it seems fine.

I believe the keyboard issue might be related to Apple’s native virtual keyboard. I’ve experienced the same problem—extreme lag, with some inputs not being registered, particularly the space bar. Initially, I thought it might be due to the placement on the larger screen, as I recently upgraded from the iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, I’m not entirely sure that’s the cause.

I tried using Gboard (though I’m not a big fan of it), and it seems to have resolved the issue to some extent I believe. Maybe it’s worth giving it a try?

I had the same issue, day 1 of my iphone 16 pro max. unresponsive touch/scrool, random reboot, and the keyboard wouldn’t show in apps. (never experience anything like it on my iphone 14 pro max.

it seems to have been fixed by turning the icon/home screen customization completely back to normal - it only does it when i have the icon customization on (specifically large icon and icons set on a green tint).. When i have it just normal small icons, no tint - no issues so far?

Yes, me! And Apple is keeping silent on the issue. They could've at least told us if this was a software issue they plan to fix or a hardware issue so we can return our brand new iPhones. The typing experience on the pro max is abysmal.
