Why do all my Homepods play the same music at different times after updating to IOS18? It doesn't happen in IOS17! There are more than 5 Homepods in my place. After I started to play for a while, maybe 3-5 songs, the audio does not sync anymore! It does like the delay time is a mess with the system!

Hi, Since you have multiple HomePods, the issue might be related to Wi-Fi signal strength. Some HomePods that are farther from the router may experience weaker signals, causing the delay.
Try grouping all your HomePods closer to the router and test again. If the problem persists, follow these steps:
Possible Solutions:
• Restart your router
• Restart all your HomePods
• Sign out of your iCloud account and sign back in
• Check if your devices need software updates
• Ensure all HomePods are connected to the same Wi-Fi network
• Unplug all HomePods, wait 2–3 minutes, and plug them back in
• Toggle the Lossless Audio option in your iPhone settings and the Home app
• If your router supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, try connecting all HomePods to 5GHz. If that doesn’t help, switch to 2.4GHz
Alternative Solution:
• Reset all your HomePods
• Reset your router

I have tried all of that and nothing seems to work to resolve this issue.

Sorry but for me as of 18.4.1 Apple music sync issue still remains. Multiple units cannot stay in sync after only 2-3 songs.
Sadly Apple does not even have current iOS versions listed in the feedback link.
Having this exact issue with all my 7 or so HomePods.
As of v18.4.1 the issue remains. There is no 18.5 that i am aware of...
18.5 is not fixing this issue for me. If anything, it happens more often now. I am on the latest HomePod firmware as well.
Sadly 18.5 has not cured the multiple unit sync issues for me. I do think the occasional “gaps/pauses” have stopped.
Still getting the pauses, but at least that seems to keep things in sync longer.
Issue stills remains after updating to 18.5... sadly.

After months of audio problems with HomePods and AppleTV, iPhone or AirPlay—it’s hard to say exactly which—I’ve finally found a solution. I’ve tested it for a while now, and there are NO issues regardless of the app or device. I’ve tried it with Apple Music and Spotify in AppleTV and iPhone, and it now works flawlessly. I should also mention that I’m running the iOS 18.4 Developer version on all my devices. The problems I experienced were crackling sounds or sync issuesafter a while as I tried playing on multiple HomePods in the home, usually playing on different HomePods in stereo pairs, and the speakers in the stereo pairs losing sync.
Now for the solution. In my case, it was IGMP/multicast-related. My switches had IGMP snooping enabled—as did my Asus WiFi(Mesh) routers—but they only had IGMP snooping activated on WiFi. I had to enable multicast routing on the LAN as well. On Asus devices, you can find these settings under Wireless > Professional and LAN > IPTV. Now everything works perfectly again.
