This does not happen all the time but it is becoming more frequent. I use Apple Music and when playing a playlist, the HomePod often plays the first few seconds of a song and then goes to another song and does it again. It is random in that there seems to be no patter with how many songs it does this for before playing a full song. Happens with both HomePod and minis. Playlists and songs play without issue when using AirPods
I wasn't clear enough. I have a very long playlist that is set to shuffle.
When this strange behaviour happens, I press the "shuffle" command to force iTunes to generate a new random order of the playlist in question. That seems to sort it out.
Until the next time, of course...
I have already restarted the devices and it does not help.
I have solved this by re-shuffling the playlist.
Not sure exactly what you mean but it happens on different playlists. I don’t think you meant using the shuffle feature but if so, I already use shuffle.
