iOS 18 Bluetooth Connection problems

Is anyone experiencing Bluetooth problems like me? After some time, connected devices like Apple Watch disconnects and connects every minute, and new devices that should connect like CarPlay don't even connect. I got this also during beta and tried disconnects and repair, network settings reset and reinstalling from iCloud Backup. Nothing worked, only doing a hard reboot. Then it works for half a day until the bug strikes again. Very annoying....

Hello,

I recently upgraded from iPhone 12 to 16 pro. Since the switch I cannot get my phone to pair with my 2019 Cadillac XTS. The blue tooth is normally easy to setup. The car also has a USB connection and although it will charge the phone no other service work (Apple Car Play). Hopefully Apple can make updates/repairs to fix this - my upgrade feels more like a downgrade.

Hi! Turning OFF the "Vocal Shortcuts" (Settings\Accessibility\Vocal Shortcuts [under SPEECH]) helped with the issue of Bluetooth Audio turning off and on a split second. Fixed BT issues for CarPlay as well.

HOWEVER, after updating to 18.0.1 fixed the issue for myself with "Vocal Shortcuts" enabled. Hope that helps.

EDITED: Thanks, this worked for me. Updated to 18.0.1 fixed the issue with Vocal Shortcuts enabled as well. HOWEVER, when Vocal Shortcuts are enabled, CarPlay is still pretty buggy. I can't switch between Apple Music and Radio. When I try to switch to my car's Radio option, it says, "Feature Currently Unavailable." Seems like Apple Music is "hung-up" during the switch.

Not sure where I saw this, but a soft reset seems to clear the Tesla key problem (touch and release volume up button, touch and release volume down button, then press and hold the on off button until the Apple logo appears). I've done this twice so far, once per day, and ... so far... things are working. The soft reset clears memory, so it may be something in iOS 18 (or 17) has a memory leak.

This is very annoying and so typical of ios updates. I just bought an iwatch and was told I would have to update my iphone from ios 17 to 18.0.1. I did this, the watch worked fine via bluetooth, but any other bluetooth appliance I had be it headphones or soundbar was not recognized by my iphone any longer. I spent a good 90 minutes with apple support and finally got some of the things to work, but not the Polk soundbar which I often use as a speaker for my iphone.

I posted about my issues with Cadillac XTS issues about a month ago. I cannot connect my phone via Bluetooth or USB. Every update I cross my fingers but still to luck. So I basically don’t use my phone while driving and have to listen to FM radio like I did as a teenager. My “new” iPhone is a disappointment.
