Return to Clock not working after OS11 update

I use timers a lot during the day for various things and once a timer is set it goes to the screen shown in the attachment and I have to go back manually to the clock face whether wrist is down for 10 seconds, 10 minutes or an hour.

I have Return to Clock set for Always and it just won't do it.

Is this a bug with the new watchOS or a different setting somewhere that I haven't located?

I did not have this issue before the 11 update.
