Return to clock does not work under Watch OS 9.4

Hello!

After upgrading to Watch OS 9.4 on my Ultra, the "return to clock" feature stopped working---I set it to return to clock after one hour for all apps but it still returns to clock after only a few minutes. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thank you.

No…I set the default to be one hour and then set the app that I wanted to remain open to the default time. After writing the previous message, I power cycled my watch. After that, the app on my watch would open when I would open the app on my phone (it was not doing so before) but the original problem of the watch app closing quickly is still a problem.

What do you mean app closing quickly is still a problem? No matter what you do, the app won't stay open when you wrist is down for an hour. It means when you raise your wrist during that hour the app should still be on your wrist. But there is no way to keep the screen open for a full hour for anything. It's either open for 15 or 70 seconds, depending on how long you set your watch to stay open after you raise your wrist, or touch the screen on your watch.

I mean that when I raise my wrist after more than two minutes but much less than one hour, the app will not be open and my watch face appears. What you say about 15 or 70 seconds is for the screen remaining awake. The options for "return to clock" are "always," "after 2 minutes," and "after 1 hour." I set it for "after 1 hour" by default, and set the app that I am using (Overcast) to go by the default setting.

I may have fixed this. Within the return to clock settings page, for Overcast, there is a switch for "Return to app." I switched that off and it seems to help. Overcast still often closes after less than one hour, but at least it remains open for more than a few minutes, as was the case with "Return to app" switched on. I will try testing this more, including lobster's suggestion of trying this with an Apple app.

I need the Return to Clock setting on my I phone to extend to 4 hours to play a round of golf on the GHIN app. I only can do that for up to one hour in settings. After an hour, it times out and then the watch wont resync with the phone again on the application and I have to start over part way through a game. It’s not workable.

is there some other way?
