Siri had always rebooted with a confirmation dialog when asked to before updating to iOS 18. Now she responds with not being able to do so or some other excuse like not understanding. I’m using an iPad 11 M2 and worry that this version 18 wasn’t compatible with my iPad and that I may have to roll the OS back assuming that I figure out how to do so. One of the things I liked most about this now missing feature was that it reduced wear and tear on my hardware and I want it back asap.

Apple must have done something on the server side of this issue because after looking for an update I thought I’d try asking Siri to reboot once more and to my amazement the old dialog popped up like it should and I was able to reboot my iPad again like before. Thanks for whoever noticed this problem existed on the Apple end and fixed this issue. I’m sure it was some kind of oversight on their end but it was quickly resolved and that’s always good.
