Siri stopped talking after iOS 18 update
I updated to ios 18 on my iphone 14 pro and now seri wont talk out loud

My phone is now working!
So after looking at the suggestions for a fix, I discovered that a soft reset worked perfectly for me. Suddenly Siri is working and there's no dictation lag. I'm no longer grumpy with my phone. I strongly recommend this for everyone suffering lag on their 16 Pro Max (or possibly other models,) as this was a lifesaver for me.
Here's the simple process:
- Press and quickly release the Volume up button
- Press and quickly release the Volume down button
- Immediately press and hold the Side button until the screen goes blank…keep holding until you see the Apple logo (will take quite a few seconds.)
Done! This is all it took to get my phone working great. I hope it works for you, too.

Still doesn’t work. Tried everything. When talking to Siri, it displays on a text, Not through voice! How do I fix this issue after updating to iOS 18 on iPhone 14?

Unfortunately in my case changing to Prefer Spoken did not help. I tried every suggestion but nothing works.

My Siri won’t say ANYTHING.
I reset 3times and I’m really tired of this nonsense.

I did all that but it didn’t help. I followed every advice but Siri is mute on my brand new iPad Pro 2024!
It’s always commenting with Apple let’s see how iOS 18.2 works. I thought they’re greatest thing ever was Siri and now she won’t work and they don’t care lol
Siri only seems to talk know when locked.
Checking spoken response does not work either!
