Siri stopped talking after iOS 18 update
I updated to ios 18 on my iphone 14 pro and now seri wont talk out loud

My phone is now working!
So after looking at the suggestions for a fix, I discovered that a soft reset worked perfectly for me. Suddenly Siri is working and there's no dictation lag. I'm no longer grumpy with my phone. I strongly recommend this for everyone suffering lag on their 16 Pro Max (or possibly other models,) as this was a lifesaver for me.
Here's the simple process:
- Press and quickly release the Volume up button
- Press and quickly release the Volume down button
- Immediately press and hold the Side button until the screen goes blank…keep holding until you see the Apple logo (will take quite a few seconds.)
Done! This is all it took to get my phone working great. I hope it works for you, too.

Thank you kind stranger! I was having the same issue. I contacted Apple Support, and they were no help. This solved the issue.
Me too. I spoke to Apple support and they think it might just be a glitch and to wait for another update.
I’ve done that myself. I shut down my phone. I re-did what you stated and nothing is working.
No. That didn't work. Retrained Siri. It recognizes the text and prints it out but will not make audio.

Tried this with a CUSTOMER SERVICE customer support person didn’t work. I have an iPhone 13 pro max.

Turn off command and other commands stop working after after ipad os 18. Keeps saying beyond my abilities at this moment. I have to go into general settings to shut down iPad.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and I am still having issues with Siri not answering questions not announcing notifications now, and I think I’ve tried everything except for resetting the whole phone
Besides weather, Siri is not speaking result on math calculations neither.
