Continuity Camera does not work - iOS 17.6.1 macOS 14.6.1 - can anyone help?

Using my iPhone 12 Pro Max iOS 17.6.1 with my MacBook Pro M2 Pro 16 inch 2023 macOS 14.6.1, continuity camera just does not work.

It used to six to eight months ago without any issues, and on odd occasions it decides to work when attached via an Apple brand cable but never when I want it to and never reliably! I can confirm that I have followed the instructions, and rebooted several times. Bluetooth and wifi all working on both devices.

Attempted to use with and without a cable attaching to my MacBook Pro, and can confirm iPhone and MacBook Pro are using the same wifi connection.

Attempted to use continuity camera with FaceTime, WhatsApp, QuickTime, Teams, Zoom, Chrome, Safari, and Google Meet. It did work last week when I recorded a video podcast episode using riverside.fm in Chrome - my iPhone was plugged into the MacBook Pro with a cable as wireless did not work. But this week nowt - so had to use the built-in FaceTime camera.

Any ideas?????
