IOS 17.5.1 and Apple watch problems?

I recently did the software update and I'm not receiving text/email notifications on my watch. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I am suddenly wearing "just a watch" because I need to go to my phone screen to see if I have a notification. I was on the phone with Apple support for 1 hour and 24 minutes the other night. We unpaired and repaired my watch. No help. I was told that an Engineer was going to look into it and they would get back to me in 4 business days. Anyone experiencing this and has a fix?
