Notifications on Apple Watch are late and show on both devices

So recently like a day or two ago I have updated both my iPhone and my Apple Watch to iOS 16.4 and watchOS 16.4. I have noticed that when I get a notification on my iPhone, it shows on the Apple watch 10-15 seconds delayed and shows on both iPhone and watch even when the iPhone is unlocked. Is it a software problem? Could it get fixed in future updates? Has this happened to anyone too?

Apple Watch Series 6, watchOS 9

Hi h947cz,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! If the notifications on your Apple Watch are not working as expected, the steps below can help:

Notifications on your Apple Watch

If you don't see notifications on your Apple Watch
When your devices disconnect, your notifications go to your iPhone instead of your Apple Watch. To check your connection, swipe up on the watch face to open Control Center. If your devices are disconnected, you might see the red iPhone icon , the red X icon , or the Wi-Fi icon Try to connect your iPhone and Apple Watch.
When your Apple Watch locks or you turn on Do Not Disturb, your notifications go to your iPhone:
* When your Apple Watch is locked, the lock icon  appears on the watch face.
* When Do Not Disturb is on, the Do Not Disturb icon  appears on the watch face. To turn this feature off, swipe up on the watch face, then tap the Do Not Disturb button .
For third-party apps, notifications are delivered only if your paired iPhone is also connected to a network.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.
