Issues with sharesheet via Quick Share

Hi there,


I have a strange issue with my iPhone on iOS 17.5.1 since two weeks.


When I use quick share in Photos, Safari, News Explorer (in fact it doesn't matter which App, as the issue happens with everything!) then the sharesheet is showing in the Siri Suggestions only Airdrop and iMessage Contacts, but not Contacts from any other messenger App.


In addition the provided list of apps to share the content with is only showing Airdrop, Messages and Mail (when I try to share a PDF it shows also Books App), but no other Apps.


Of course I have many Apps installed and I am used to use Quick Share since long time, so I have no idea how and why the share sheet is broken now. There is nothing really I remember to have changed to make it start beginning, except of a iPhone restart, after it was behaving cluncky and freezing during use.


What I already did:

  • Reset of all settings - didn't solve it
  • Factory reset - didn't solve it
  • Factory reset and re-installing everything individual without using backup - didn't solve it
  • Factory reset and using icloud backup to restore - didn't solve it
  • I got a hardware replacement from Apple after an issue with the hardware was identified - still didn't solve it!


Additional notes:

  • The problem seems to start to appear after reset only after a couple of minutes or a few hours
  • Directly after reseting the sharesheet does work
  • I have an iPad Pro M1 with latest OS and the problem does not occure on it
  • I tried things like disabling Siri recommendations, phone restart already without any change of the problem


I am in contact with Apple Support and they told me that they will do a 72 hours check.


However, when I search the internet, I don't really find someone with exactly the same issue as I have. Maybe I am the only one, or the first?


Does anybody have an idea or hint what I could try, check, do to solve this problem?

Just an update. The problem still exist, even after the call back from Apple Support. When I had the call, there was no relation to the 72 hours check mentioned in the previous support call. I will have a follow up call next week, but the effort to trouble shoot this problem is too much pain for me. They want me to reset and then document every single app or change I do until the problem occurs again. This will cost me many, many hours. I think I resign and wait for the next update and hope that it will be fixed with the next update, or with iOS 18.....

Wow, my share sheet is working again since i upgraded the icloud storage to 200gb.


the issue initially started when I downgraded from apple one to just apple tv+ and 50gb. that's why i have some believe that this might be the reason.


i will wait a bit and downgrad icloud storage again to 50gb to check if share sheet fails again ...
