johesx.co.in malware hawking Norton

I usually run Chrome, but opened Safari on my Mac for the first time in months, then closed. Ever since, I am getting prompts ever 10 or 15 seconds in the upper right corner of my screen with the Safari logo and claiming I have viruses or need to renew Norton with some outfit named johesx.co.in. I ran a deep scan with CleanmyMac and their malware scanner and it doesn't show up. Anyone else have this problem? So sorry I opened Safari.

You allowed a website to send you Notifications. Go to Safari > Settings > Websites > Notifications, and remove all websites.

On a side note, CleanMyMac has caused problems for other users and you may want to review some of the posts here to help with identifying these problems in case you experience the same issue.
