Calendar events keep disappearing.

I have been havinga huge problem adding calendar events only to have them later disappear. I’ve even noticed the event was missing, added it again, only to have it disappear again. I’ve missed several very important appointments because of this issue. Very frustrating to rely on the calendar only to have it lose my important appointments. Any suggestions on how to prevent it from happening?
