Apple Watch stuck in "Preparing" during update

i want to update my watch and it has been preparing from my phone for over 20 minutes

Apple Watch 3 stuck on preparing Hello, I have an Apple Watch series 3 and I have tried the update 4 times and the watch always ends up being stuck on the preparing part. I have both my iPhone and watch both in rang and my iPhone is connected to the wifi and is also up to date. Not sure what else to do. Please help.

Did you already try the troubleshooting mentioned in this article?

Try these steps:

Make sure that your Apple Watch is connecting properly to its charger.
Restart your Apple Watch.
Restart your paired iPhone.
Try again to update your Apple Watch.

If the update won't start:

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
Tap General > Storage.
Delete the update file.
Try again to update your Apple Watch.
