Apple Watch 3 stuck on preparing

Hello,

I have an Apple Watch series 3 and I have tried the update 4 times and the watch always ends up being stuck on the preparing part. I have both my iPhone and watch both in rang and my iPhone is connected to the wifi and is also up to date. Not sure what else to do. Please help.
