I want to back up all my photos from iCloud to a flash drive.
The problem is that we have ~64,000 photos and videos. (Yes, I know. No lectures, please. It's due to both of our cases of depression.) When I selects all and click the download button I get a message that I can only download 1,000 at a time.
Is there a way where I can do all? And if not that, an app?

Photos can’t be transferred directly from iCloud to an external hard drive for that you need to set up iCloud photo library see the article Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple
And its preferences Change preferences in Photos on Mac - Apple open finder > Go > home > your user name > pictures either drag and drop Photos Library.photoslibrary to an external hard drive , the second method is right click on Photos Library.photoslibrary and click on show package contents in the upcoming column , you can also drag and drop complete “ originals “ folder to an external hard drive that is connected .

FWIW, the iCloud library was being regularly backed to an external drive to which I had moved the .photoslibrary to an external drive.
Trying to move it all to a second external drive because I have issues with the current one.
You’ll want to back up your Photo library on the Mac using Time Machine instead.
The Mac’s photo library is on an external drive.
The photo library I want to back to an external drive is iCloud Photos.
So how is that done?
