HP Printer doesn't print in color from my MacBook Air

I set up my new hp printer and when I try to print from my Macbook Air, the print dialog box does not offer an option to select 'color'; it only offers the choice of printing b&w. When I look at the print preview, it shows the preview in b&w even if the item to be printed is in full color on my screen. However, If I place a color document on the glass printer table, it will copy in color. These are new ink cartridges.

A simple solution in my case. As I mentioned, there was no check box option for color in the printer dialog box. This time, I unchecked the b&w box, and now it prints color. While this is not intuitive, it worked, after some frustration.
