Repetitive "chirp" sound while scrolling!

There is a normal “chirp” sound effect that occurs when one scrolls to the very top of a page, like in a Facebook news feed scroll. It indicates you’ve reached the top.

Starting yesterday, that chirp sound occurs multiple, repetitive times as I am scrolling down the populated page, usually associated with any picture. It chirps as if it is super-sensitive to any photo. Sometimes it chirps more than once, and sometimes it chirps even if my finger is not on the phone anymore.

This continual chirping is extremely annoying at anytime, but especially if I am in a public place.

I don’t want to turn off all the normal sound effects just to eliminate this particular one, if that is even an option.

Why is this occurring, and what can be done to stop the repetitive chirping during scrolling?

Thanks.

It is, apparently, a new Facebook "feature." I believe it can be turned off somewhere in Settings within the app. Under Sounds, perhaps?

Well, now I know what it is. There's an article on WSB-TV that explains that Facebook has added the repeating "chirp" sound to all scrolling feeds as a FEATURE. They think that the constant chirping will make your scrolling experience more interactive and engaging. Incredible.

Thanks for the replies. This is another one of those things I'll have to work around and endure when it was just fine before. Gahh.
