Battery Health in iPhone SE

The new iPhone SE, I bought at Apple store (at Bway/67 St.) a few weeks ago, is loosing ~25% of battery charge overnight, while at rest - when the phone is not used, all Apps are Off, and the 'Background App Refresh' feature is turned Off.

The Battery Maximum Capacity is indicated as 100% in the Battery Health feature.

This phone, charged to 100% at 11 PM, shows just ~75% charge the next morning. Why is it?

If its connected to cellular, it's going to be using power. What you've described sounds quite normal. What you should be doing is plug your phone in to charge when you go to bed at night, and leave it plugged in all night every night, connected to Wifi, with iCloud backup turned on. The phone cannot be overcharged and you should use Optimized Battery Charging, which can be found in Settings > Battery.

Thanks for the charging instructions.

The point is that the iPhone SE battery discharging so fast overnight, is draining even faster when the phone is used during the day. Since I'm aware of existence of high quality batteries in iPhone 7 and iPhone 12 mini, the question I originally asked was 'why my new iPhone SE has such a week battery?'

In addition to selling apples, has the manufacturer started selling lemons?

If you want to know what is using the battery in your iPhone, open the Settings App > Battery and a list of all applications which used a charge will appear with the percentage of charge they used. You can make adjustments from there. 3rd party apps can be battery hogs. Apps like YouTube and Facebook or Messenger can gobble available charge. The chances of your battery being weak, are not likely. Something is using the charge. Figure it out and make the necessary changes to minimize it.
