iPhone 13 Pro Max battery health

I bought a iPhone 13 Pro Max last year and still have a limited Warranty until 10/2023 (still within a year from purchase). I was wondering whey the battery capacity is draining to 99% within a short time of purchase.

In compare with iPhone 8 Plus I had before, the iPhone 13 Pro Max tends to drain battery faster and the apps required to get updated more and more in a short time. I turned off Background App Refresh off.

Question: Is the battery defective?

There is nothing wrong with your battery, in fact, if it's only dropped 1% since last year, you are ahead of the curve.

Batteries degrade over time with usage due to chemical aging, that's just how they work.

You can expect about a 1% drop per month with average use on an iPhone.

Apple recommends replacing it when it reaches 80%. To check your battery health, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health.
