Apple TV 4K Resolutions

Hello everyone, I was looking to purchase an LG ultrawide monitor with 3440x1440 resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio. Is this compatible with the new apple tv 4k box or will it have black bars, stretched screen etc? Thanks

does apple tv support ultrawide monitor (3440 x 1440) I have an 34 inch LG ultra wide monitor. It works well with direct connection to MacBook Pro via HDMI. When connected via Apple TV the resolution is different and Images are distorted. I tried selecting 3440 x 1440 in display settings in Apple but it’s not working. Tried updating and restarting Apple TV but the wide angle resolution is not getting applied in Apple TV. Can’t locate the wide angle resolution in airplay display settings. Is there a fix?

No 4K option Hi! I just upgraded my Apple TV 4K 1st gen to 3rd gen. Everything works perfectly with my old Apple TV but not my new one that doesn’t show 4K HDR or SDR as a resolution option. The highest available is 1080. Also there is no option to check my hdmi cable and it’s not possible to change chrominans from 4:2:2, which is strange to me since 4:2:0 is a less complicated setting.. frustrated!

if the appletv would connect to it at all then it would be black bars or stretched depending on the monitors settings
