Books not working after update to iOS 17.2.1

The app won’t open anything in my library after the update to 17.2.1.

Books worked perfectly before updating to iOS 17.2.1. After updating, all the book themes were messed up and embedded fonts in books were not respected. Exhausted all the possible fixes I could imagine (except downgrading iOS back to 17.2) but the app still doesn’t work as before. The app on my other Apple devices not updated to iOS 17.2.1 still works great.

Update: my problem was immediately resolved after updating to iOS 17.3.
