Why gmail keeps listening to new emails even though I have set it to fetch hourly basis (Annoying bug)
Why gmail keeps listening to new emails even though I have set it to fetch hourly basis (Annoying bug)
I have Gmail installed on my iPhone 15 Pro max with iOS 17.2.1 (latest 20 Dec 2023 update). Below are my settings for Gmail: Settings -> Mail -> Accounts -> Fetch New Data -> Hourly
I have set "Push" to off and for all email accounts are set to "Fetch" except iCloud which is set to "Push" and I have set "Fetch" to Hourly on this screen.
Now, iPhone doesn't obey this setting for some reason. Every email I get, it sends me notification. Eating up my phone battery and disturbs me all the time. I want Gmail to "Check" email only once in an hour and send me notifications only once in an email say for each email account. How to go about this?
This request has two parts:
1) A clear cut annoying bug that gmail is not working as per hourly fetch only.
2) Can someone recommend give me best possible settings for emails (gmail) on iPhone?
Thanks.
