Wired CarPlay Issues with iPhone 15

Are people still having issues with wired CarPlay only working sporadically with iPhone 15? I spoke with Apple a week ago and they acknowledged the issue, but also suggested it could be linked to the VPN on my phone (which I don’t think is the culprit since I had the same VPN on my previous iPhone 13 and had no CarPlay issues with it). I am amassing a small army of different cords to try out, but none of them solve the issue.
