Turning off sync between 2 iPhones

My work phone and my normal phone are both iPhones. When they are in my pocket together, they keep trying to sync with each other. I don't want these phones syncing with each other, it also temporarily stops me from unlocking the phones when they try and sync. Is there a way to turn this feature off so it stops asking all the time? One is an iPhone 11 and the other is an iPhone 8.

Hi HopelessWithChange, In the AirDrop Settings first paragraph check Contacts Only. The other setting in "Start Sharing By" paragraph will only turn off sharing by bring two iPhones together. It should not affect other AirDrop functions on Apple devices that have Wi-Fi turned on (even when there is no Wi-Fi to connect too) and have Bluetooth turned on. What makes the difference is the TOP Paragraph AirDrop Settings. Receiving Off, Contacts Only, Everyone for 10 minutes.

If you turn off your Wi-Fi setting and try to AirDrop you will get a message saying, "Wi-Fi Off Turn on Wi-Fi to share with AirDrop" followed by a "Turn on Wi-Fi" link.

  • Remember Bluetooth is the Connection method
  • Wi-Fi is the Transport method.

My work phone and personal phone keep buzzing and connecting together. I don’t want my personal details shared with a work phone. I followed the instructions to switch off bring devices together but now I can’t airdrop photos. Any ideas how to still have air drop features, still have blue tooth on both for use in car and still have iCloud for both devices on?
