Apple Pencil 2 Stopped Work With New Ios 17.1.2 Software In Ipad Air 5Th Gen

I have an Apple Pencil 2 with an iPad Air 5th generation. After updating to the latest OS, i.e., 17.1.2, my Apple Pencil stopped working. I did an overnight update, and the next day, when I checked, my Pencil was connected, but it was absent from the battery widget. So, I tried using it but was not able to. I disconnected it and forgot it from my device to reconnect, but when I placed it on the side of the iPad, I did get a pop-up of "Apple Pencil," but there was no charging sign. The pop-up was glowing dim and bright, so I checked in Bluetooth, but there was no Apple Pencil to connect to. I restarted my iPad and tried again, but there was no result. I also did a force restart and tried again, but the issue persisted.

You might be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.

Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to offer assistance:
