How can I disable the photo that pops up with an incoming call?

As of now if the neighbor or other iOS caller customizes their contact photo and poster that is what you will see. There is no current way to stop the caller from choosing how they would like to be displayed.

Choose the contact and where you see "Contact Photo & Poster Shared by Contact Name", click on that and change to Custom Photo Ask Before Updating" and you are done. The call will not come up with anymore photos shared by the person and will just be back to what it was before these new contact photo sharing.

In the meantime, you can go to your neighbor’s contact info in your contacts, and change the photo manually, you can choose or upload something, or make it a blank “monogram,” they call it. This should override their invasive photos.

That’s not true my settings are set to banner and never announce call but when I get calls from people who have setup there profile picture it shows up on the entire screen. It is very annoying and I because of this feature anyone near me can see who is calling me.

I also can’t stand this. It’s invasive and annoying as ****. The only photos I should have to see on my phone are ones I put there. I repeat, it is invasive. That alone is enough reason to remove this feature entirely.

Apple - you need to fix it

I do t want my ex wife’s face popping up on my watch or my phone when I’m out to dinner with my partner. She needs to communicate re the kids but come on !!! It’s not cool is it

If you go to your ex-wife's contact info under your contacts, you can manually change her photo. The photo she has selected to send to other phones will be displayed there. You can override it by changing it to another photo, or a "monogram" which is just text. It sucks that there is no easy way to turn off all of them, but this is the work-around I use. I found an alternative solution, if you go to the contacts and then click on the caller you don’t want to see the picture pop up. Click edit and then underneath the picture there’s another edit button. Click on that and you can just make it look plain. You’re welcome

You can go to settings and chose how your phone notifications (for calls) show up. If you choose banner, it won’t go onto your full screen.
