Activity Monitor crashes anytime I open the Energy tab

So I restarted my MacBook i5 and upon startup I ran ran my activity monitor and it was working till I clicked on the energy tab. It crashed and continues to crash every time I open app. I get this error message...

Delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ActivityMonitor.plist


i was having this issue and was able to get Activity Monitor to start by deleting the plist.


for what it's worth, the issue started for me after a fresh install of MacOS + loading up a Time Machine backup
