15 pro max videos wont play

I’ve had the 15 pro max for about a month and recently discovered I cannot play back videos that are sent to me over text. When I looked back in my camera roll I also discovered that ALL the videos I’ve taken or received since getting the new phone do not play. I can see the video thumbnail and also see the playback windows along the bottom but the screen does not advance beyond the initial thumbnail.

When I go back in my camera roll to videos taken with my 12 pro max, they all play. This is super annoying. I have plenty of free space in the phone and I have also restarted the phone with no luck. I am running all but the most recent update, which should install tonight. But the fixes for this update don’t mention anything about video playback.

Anyone have this problem or a fix??

Ok I fixed it. Go to settings…then general…then transfer or reset iPhone… then to reset iPhone … then reset network settings….

These are videos I am taking myself and are in my camera roll. Also ones that are sent from other iPhone users.

my camera roll will play the videos I took from my 12 pro max that are still there. But all new videos I am taking with my current phone will not play.

The only way I can get the videos to play is by opening them in the camera roll and then go to edit… and they will play from there but that’s very annoying.
