Can't set my own alarm sound on my 12 Pro Max iPhone

I can't change the alarm sound on my 12 Pro Max iPhone. I have followed all the previously recommended steps in this community support site, for setting a song, already in my library, that I have used on previous iPhones, for my alarm sound on my 12 Pro Max iPhone. But nothing works. With the recent update on my iPhone to IOS 17.1.1 the tone was changed to a new very annoying sound and I can't change that either. Can someone offer some new suggestions?

Yes...my song is on the list, as well as a number of ring tone choices to choose from. But even when I select any or them, they still don't work. The same annoying alarm tone is what I hear.

Thanks though. Appreciate your taking the time. Hope they fix it if it is a bug.

I’ve been having issues with sounds on Alarms and Timers, as well. So I would wait until iOS 17.2 and then contact Apple Support or go into the Apple Support App if it still doesn’t work.

Thanks so much for the advice to contact Apple Support. I did. First thing the Apple Support Perosn helped me with was to finally be able to change the default alarm ring tone. I don't know exactly what we did to get there, because she went through a lot of trials, but something finally worked. Then after some time on the phone she helped me download my song as a ring tone and now it works. That also took multiple trials. My advice for anyone who is having similar problems is to go to Apple Support.
