Hello. My son is 13 years old but I can not add credit card to Wallet to use Apple pay. There is just a warning message "Cannot Add Card" and "Payment cards are not supported for this account".Please instruct me how to proceed to add the card for my son. Thanks

Is your child part of your Family Sharing plan?

A child 13 and older can use Apple Pay, but that may be limited to the Apple Cash family plan and the Apple Card that is linked to your account.

Set up Apple Card Family and add a co-owner and participants - Apple Support

Use Apple Cash and Apple Card with Family Sharing on iPhone (U.S. only) - Apple Support

There is no documentation that a child aged 13 can add their own credit card. This may be due to a person under 18 cannot apply for their own credit card since they are not an adult able to enter into a legal contract provided by the bank.

Apple allows sharing of purchases for children who are 13, but they can only do that with their Apple Card. They cannot force their policies on other credit card companies. So in your case, you would need to share your Apple Card for purchases with your child. Here are the steps to follow to share your Apple Card from the Support Article:

You can share your Apple Card with family members, manage payments, and control account settings and limits for children who are 13 years or older. You can also review and manage everyone’s details.

  1. Go to Settings > Family > Share My Apple Card.
  2. The option only appears if you have Apple Card.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Hi Mac,

thanks for your reply. I am okay with that that he will use my credit card using Family Sharing. I have already set this. But will he be able to use my credit card to pay in store? Because right now with family sharing enabled he can not evoke apple pay. So, my question is how to achieve to allow him to pay in all shops (physically). Not only on eshops or itunes.... Thanks.
