I updated to Sonoma sometime last week and ever since my MacBook is no longer updating my play counts between my phone's Apple Music and MacBook's. I played the new Beatles song like 30 times on my phone but it hasn't counted it (or anything else) since November 6. Only when I play songs on my MacBook's Apple Music will it update play count/last played. In the words of John: "Help!"

Same problem for me since updating to iOS 17 about a month ago. Plays on Iphone SE do not update play counts on itunes on PC. But added music, deletes and favourites on my phone do update the library on my PC. Everything works as normal (ish) from my PC, as music plays on my PC update the library on my iphone.
I've tried all sorts of things at my end (deleting/reinstalling app, signing in and out of apple music, hammer blows etc) but nothing helps., so I gave up, as I'm convinced it is a bug in the app after the iOS17 update.
Other discussions suggest Apple are aware and looking into it. But the latest update to 17.1.2 a couple of days ago did not solve the bug

Thanks for the response. I concur, the new update has not solved the problem. Very frustrating to say the least. It also has effected my "2023 replay" statistics as nothing new played in the last month has been counted.
Yeah same for me, seems to be 14.1 that has broken it looking at the dates. My last playcount updated song was 24/10. 14.1 came out on the 25th.
Thanks for confirming that it's happening to other users. Hopefully Apple will send a fix!
