So was playing with app shown on my Iwatch face and when I put the calendar back on it, it doesn’t show my next event. I can click it and get to the calendar but it doesn’t display the next event. I’ve tried resyncing all data and played with the calendar options in the watch app on the iPhone. Other apps display just fine.

This happened to me after I updated my watch. One of my 3 watch faces just disappeared - gone totally! I added it back in with the calendar complication in the middle. Now it is blank (looks like some gray lines). I have to press on it to see any of my events. Why do apple updates go backwards in convenience? The face should not have disappeared to begin with!
Mine doesn't either. Did you recently update your watch to the latest version? Maybe the update is causing issues.
Happened before the latest upgrade 🤷♂️
Erased all content and started like it was a new watch. Didn’t work.
